IMPORTANCE OF COLLAGEN

Do you know? Our skin is made up of 70% collagen. Collagen plays a vital role in supporting the skin from within.

However, our skin’s ability to produce collagen naturally declines with age.Collagen loss is one of the main factors of visible signs of aging.

MULTI DIMENSIONAL COLLAGEN BOOST

40 years of Collagen Research has led to breakthrough technologies to work on the 4 main types of collagen in the skin.

  • Flowers
    Type IV Collagen Network Collagen

FUNCTION: Supports good circulation between the epidermis and dermis to create healthy skin
    SHAPE: Sheet-shaped collagen
    LOCATION: Basement membrane

    Flowers

Native to Europe, Cornflower Extract is also rich in antioxidants and has been shown to protect the skin against environmental stressors and free radicals that can cause premature aging.

    Flowers

Turmeric is a spice made from dried, ground root of the Curcuma longa plant. It is a potent antioxidant and can help offset signs of environmental damage to skin.

  • Flowers
    Type VII Collagen Lifting Collagen

FUNCTION: Binds and lifts epidermis and dermis collagen
    SHAPE: Hook-shaped collagen
LOCATION: Just below the basement membrane

    Flowers

Citrus Peel Extract are rich in Vitamic C and high in antioxidants, which help to reduce aging signs caused by UV exposure.

    Flowers

Mangosteen Extract is known as the “Queen of Fruits” in Southeast Asia. It contains xanthones which protect the skin with antioxidant benefits.

  • Flowers
    Type V Collagen Flexible Collagen

FUNCTION: Regulates the quality of type I collagen
    SHAPE: Very thin collagen
    LOCATION: Upper dermis.

    Flowers

Seaweeds are packed full of nutrients which promote collagen production, reduce wrinkles, fine lines and pigmentation and give the appearance of plumper, more youthful-looking skin.

    Flowers

Peppermint Extract comes from Peppermint leaves. Rich in antioxidants Vitamin A, C, B, Riboflavin, and Folate to help brighten, soften, and tone the complexion.

    Type III Collagen Bounce Collagen

FUNCTION: Gives flexibility to skin tissue
    SHAPE: Thin, soft, fluffy collagen
    LOCATION: Upper dermis

    Flowers

Watercress Extract is native to Europe and Asia. It grows rapidly in water and one of the oldest known leafy vegetables consumed by humans. The extract mainly possesses antioxidant properties.

  • Flowers
    Type I Collagen Volume Collagen

FUNCTION: Serves as the base of skin elasticity and resilience, accounts for ~90% of collagen in dermis
    SHAPE: Thick and strong collagen
LOCATION: Exists in all layers of the dermis

    Flowers

Pure Retinol can help preserve your skin’s collagen, stimulate new
    collagen production,
    and thicken the
layer of skin where wrinkles form. Shiseido is the only group approved by authorities in Japan to contain effective use of Pure Retinol.

    Flowers

Obtained from Yeast cells, Hydrolyzed Yeast Extract has the ability to increase cell turnover and improve collagen synthesis.

EFFECTS OF RETINOL CONFIRMED

      LEARN MORE ABOUT COLLAGEN

When applied topically to the skin, collagen has a moisturizing effect. Collagen is a huge molecule that cannot penetrate deeply into the skin. So, as a skincare ingredient, it cannot be used to increase skin collagen. However, because it attracts water very well, it forms a water-rich film on the top layer of the skin and provides good hydration benefit.

Consuming collagen provides a source for building new collagen. When collagen is ingested, it gets broken down by the digestive system before getting absorbed. These small fragments may be used by the body as building blocks to form new collagen. However, collagen production rate must also be improved to boost skin collagen, and this can be achieved with certain dietary ingredients, such as Vitamin C.

Protect the collagen that is already in your skin and enhance your skin’s collagen production from within. Collagen production naturally declines with age. Furthermore, factors such as exposure to UV rays, lack of sleep, and stress, can cause further damage to the collagen in your skin. It is thus important to take good care of our skin by applying adequate UV protection and maintaining healthy lifestyle habits. At the same time, certain dietary and skincare ingredients can be used to target the mechanisms in the skin to boost collagen production.
